Cambridge University to train police chiefs in India E-mail

The university's Institute of Criminology signed an agreement with the National Police Academy of India, under which it will provide mid-career training for 420 police executives. Sir Ian Blair, the former Metropolitan Police commissioner, will co-direct the course.

20,000 youths from Punjab sneak into Europe every year: Study E-mail

Nearly 20,000 youths from Punjab try to illegally migrate to the European Union (EU) every year, the majority to Britain, according to report by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).

The report said many of these illegal immigrants either land up in jails of the destination countries, commit suicide while on their way, or lose money to unscrupulous travel agents.
