| Mumbai Calling to baby boy calling for Nitin Ganatra |

Eastender star Nitin Ganatra says he almost caused a security alert at Heathrow Airport while running to be at his wife's side when she gave birth. He plays call centre worker Dev in new ITV sitcom Mumbai Calling and was away on location in India when his wife Meera went into labour with his son, meaning he had to fly back to the UK. Nitin revealed: "The flight was late, so imagine a brown guy with a beard on a mobile, shouting 'How are you doing?' with a backpack on, running through Heathrow airport - people were taking cover quite quickly. "I've got that sort of face that always, always gets stopped at immigration and customs. It just says 'come here sir we need to do a strip search'. But I had fire in my eyes and I managed to scream at them 'My wife's having a baby' and then jumped in taxi, got to the hospital 28 minutes late. "So that was a bit of a shocker, but it was great to be in India, it's great place to work and we had really good fun doing it." Mumbai Calling is a new comedy created Allan McKeown, the maker of Birds Of A Feather and Auf Wiedersehen Pet, and co-written and starring Sanjeev Bhaskar and Nitin. Nitin said: "I play Dave, the Del Boy of Bombay. He's a wheeler dealer, he's very cocky and self-assured, essentially a good guy but he's always running a scam." Mumbai Calling starts 10:00 pm on Saturday, ITV1. Related Articles:
